Inaugurated at 10th of June, 2021, Rumbach synagogue in Budapest has reopened after more than 70 years following a long-term renovation. Prior the reopening ceremony prominent Jewish representatives, community leaders, workers, and other attendees participated in a traditional procession under the direction of President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz) András Heisler,Chief Rabbi Zoltan Radnoti and Peter Deutsch. They took the Torah scroll under a four-posted wedding canopy from the garden of world's second largest synagogue, Dohany synagogue to the "Rumbach" which is located only few blocks away, while a local music band, called Hamsa played some traditional songs underway. Following the placing of three mezuzahs in the renovated synagogue, Chief Cantor László Zucker and Immanuel Zucker blessed the thoroughly renovated building and Torah scroll, what two bar mitzvah boys, the Gordon brothers have placed in to the Ark of the synagogue. During the ceremony well-known Jewish community leaders and representatives took speeches, including Chief Rabbi Péter Kardos, András Heisler, Chief Rabbi Róbert Frölich, World Jewish Congress president Ronald S. Lauder and Ambassador of Israel Yakov Hadas-Handelsman.
